Lion’s Tail Brewing’s new Wauwatosa location sought a comprehensive branding overhaul, with a special emphasis on creating a standout interior feature. The project involved 2 distant areas of signage.
The first area was the location entrance, including an illuminated blade sign to draw attention, non-lit lettering that adds character, and aluminum shields to flank the entryway.
The second location held a custom interior build – 3/4″ push-thru acrylic lettering with painted aluminum faces, enhanced with 2nd surface vinyl for an ‘orange glow’ effect. All of this, housed in a custom cabinet color matched to the wall.
Challenges for this project included the removal of existing signage and navigating detailed city code restrictions. Not to mention, using the push-through acrylic component as we designed, was being executed for the first time.
Removal of Existing Signage: The project began with the challenging task of removing a large, wooden sign previously on the property. Our team managed this carefully to prepare for the new branding elements.
City Code Restrictions: Navigating city codes regarding the number of allowable signs presented a hurdle. We worked closely with local authorities to ensure compliance while maximizing the impact of the new signage.
Innovative Interior Signage: The interior signage included a unique routed aluminum cabinet with a push-thru acrylic component. This was a new approach for us but resulted in a stunning and effective focal point for the space.
The final result exceeded expectations, delivering a cohesive and visually striking branding update for Lion’s Tail Brewing. The innovative designs and meticulous execution highlighted the brewery’s new location in Wauwatosa, setting a high standard for future projects.
