Innovative Signs was tasked with providing impactful signage for the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s new concession stand and broadcast tower. The project involved mounting five illuminated cabinet boxes side-by-side on the building’s street side and a dimensional team logo on the field side, creating a striking visual presence for the new facility.
The desired signs were huge, not to mention the building was located in a place that would require traffic disruption during installation.
Size and Maneuverability: The size of the cabinet boxes presented challenges in maneuvering and space management. We overcame this by strategically planning the installation process and renting specialized equipment. Due to their size, each cabinet had to be transported to the site individually. We managed this logistical challenge efficiently to keep the project on schedule.
Traffic Disruption: We needed to close one traffic lane to lift and install the cabinets. This required careful coordination to minimize disruption and ensure the safety of both our team and pedestrians.
Building Facade Issue: Upon arrival, we discovered that the building façade was 1.5 inches shorter than the specifications. To address this, we resized one cabinet to fit the altered dimensions.
Despite the obstacles, the project was completed successfully. All five cabinet boxes were mounted securely and illuminated, enhancing the visibility and aesthetic of the new concession stand and broadcast tower, right in time for opening day.
